Interesting sounds are coming out from Colombia,in this case from Bogotá, probably because the local scene has been more influenced than ever; nowadays many more internationals bands stop by in Bogotá in their world tours.
Happy listening is very glad to introduce you this great Bogotá's band that sounds different from what have been the traditional rock sound of the city, specially that one from the mid 90's, last big moment of local music.
Planes is a band that has been writing music for about 2 years and has been playing live shows for about 8 months.
They have a broad sound that can pass through a number of musical genres such as folk, punk or dance music while generally maintaing a pop sensibility.
they haven't yet made an official release.
The version and sound quality of this song is much better in the video rather than in the audio file, but you be the judge.

This band is from Reading, England, Pete & the Pirates make a nice, and full of guitars, indie rock that sounds a little bit of a 80s post-punk.

Personally I prefer their previous album “Little Death” from 2008 rather than this one. But listen them, and make your own opinion.

The band was formed in 2005 and consists of Tommy Sanders (vocals), Peter Cattermoul (bass/vocals), David Thorpe (guitar), Jonny Sanders (drums) and Peter Hefferan (guitar/vocals).

According to my last.fm rolodetaller this was the song that I most listen in the last six months. I found it absolutely perfect and ideal to listen while walking.

My Teenage Stride is Jedediah Smith with Brett Whitmoyer, and a rotating cast of other musicians, such as Jenny Logan from Ribbons and Jeff Ciprioni from The Metric Mile. The group began in Brooklyn in 2004, essentially as a bedroom project for permanently wired songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Smith.

The Phenomenal Handclap Band (PHB) is a tightly knit group of musicians and artists from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. The band started to take shape when DJ and production partners Daniel Collás and Sean Marquand began writing songs together in their studio while simultaneously producing other artists' records. With their involvement in the thriving nightlife scene, the partners had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of esoteric music ranging from Brazilian soul to vintage psych-rock & proto-disco, along with a wide range of musician friends to help them cultivate their vision for their own album.

This Phenomenal Handclap Band album did not come to life in the most traditional of ways. During the recording process, Collás and Marquand called upon various friends from the indie rock and underground soul scene such as Aurelio Valle, Carol C, Jaleel Bunton, Jon Spencer, and Lady Tigra to perform on the album. As the band itself progressed, PHB was distilled into an eight-member harmonious collective. Patrick Wood, Luke Riverside, Laura Marin, Bing Ji Ling, Pier Pappalardo and Joan Tick joined to officially form the band in 2008. The self-titled debut PHB album was released in the summer of 2009 and their first single, “15 to 20” hit the radio and controlled the dance floor instantaneously.*

Peter Tosh (born Winston Hubert McIntosh) with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer formed in 1962 in Kingston, Jamaica one of the most important band in our music history “the Wailers”. After the disintegration of the band each member started his own solo career and apparently there were no more friendship between Tosh and Marley; Tosh not even went to the funeral of Marley.

Tosh started a successful career to the point to went touring with the Rolling Stones and occasionally perform duo with Mick Jagger at their shows; his lyrics were highly political full of allusions the human rights specially for the descendants of African slaves and of course always promoting the Rastafarian philosophy

Tosh died in September 11th 1987 in his house at Kingston when a three-man gang came into his house demanding money, money that Tosh didn’t have so the leader of the gang shoot him twice, the murderer still remains in jail.

Esta Semana Punk Británico de los 70's

Los orígenes del Punk no solo se limitan a los Pistols, Ramones y The
Clash, muchas otras bandas más también tuvieron que ver con el origen
del genero, y una de ellas es Buzzcocks que desde mediados de los 70's
desde Manchester UK presentaron su propuesta musical basados en volver
a buscar el rock básico, dejando de lado el virtuosismo que

The Whitest Boy Alive
Banda de Berlín. La banda se compone del Erlend Øye , también
componente de Kings of Convenience como guitarrista y cantante , el
bajista Marcin Öz, el baterista Sebastan Maschat y Daniel Nentwig en
el piano Rhodes y sintetizadores Crumar. Empezaron como un proyecto de
música electrónica en Berlín en el 2003, pero se han desarrollado
desde entonces como una banda sin elementos programados. Su álbum
debut Dreams (2006) del sello Asound / Universal tiene como dato
curioso fue grabado completamente en vivo, técnica poco usual en estos
días donde básicamente cualquier producción musical se graba por
canales.

H.L.R. Recomienda especialmente esta banda.
